mailpost needs better debugging traces

Description
There were some complaints that running mailpost with debugging enabled still didn't produce any messages even when things weren't working. It should be more verbose when debugging is enabled.

Improvements to "mailpost -n" have been done since that bug report. Especially [7789], [7792], [8370] and [8440].
One of the main woes was that nothing was logged when mailpost either couldn't find the pathtmp directory or couldn't write to it.
